It's official, I am pretty certain I am insane. Tired of complaining about things but never actively doing anything about it I decided that my New Years resolution would be to raise $52,000 for Allergy New Zealand to kick start their "Food Allergy Research fund". I had all of these brilliant ideas that seemed completely sane at 5 past midnight when I couldn't get to sleep. It seemed completely sane and rational and of course everyone would go out of their way to help me achieve my goal.

Well, the first rays of light don't only bring eye boogers but also the harsh realities that money is tight, there are loads of other charities needing funding and I have absolutely NO idea what I am doing.

I still believe my ideas for raising money are brilliant and I have sent off my first begging email but now I need to set the rest of my plan in to motion. It would be nice to have raise $500 by the end of January not only for the sake of the goal but for the sake of my sanity. I haven't even told Allergy NZ my plans yet so I hope they don't mind too much.

This blog has been started to keep a track of the highs and lows of my journey/challenge and as time passes you will hopefully come to understand why I have chosen this goal as I discuss my families personal journey with food allergies.

I have a funny feeling that this is going to be one heck of a ride.
